Information on your profile settings

General

In your profile you can view and modify the information you provided during registration, as well as many additional settings.

The profile is divided into different sections, each with its own save button to apply changes.

Minimum information

The first section contains the main information about your account. These details are protected from being changed too frequently, so there are individual buttons at the end of the section to update them: Eingefügtes Bild

Along with your username, the most frequently displayed part of your profile is your avatar image, for example, in the header before your username. We offer some styles from Gravatar, but you can also upload your own image.

Above the row of buttons, you will find summaries of your interactions with other players: buddies (your friends, shown in the chat when online), muted players (you will no longer receive messages from these players), and blocked players (you won’t see or receive game invitations from these players, and vice versa). Each list has a manage button on the right that allows you to view the full list, as well as add or remove people. Usually, you will add players to these lists via their player information page or the player context menu.

Finally, there is also an option here to delete your account.

Personal information

The second settings section is where you can present yourself to other players. This information is displayed on your player information page. You can decide how much to share here. The country is usually shown as a flag in many games, helping others know your location or time zone. The languages section lets others know which languages you speak. The gender setting is used to adjust the gendered form of your rank name. You can also link your username to your BoardGameGeek profile or your personal homepage. Lastly, there is a text box for any message or description you want to share.

Remember to press the save button at the bottom of the section after making any changes.

Further settings

The third section contains notification settings. Notifications can be sent via email, push notifications in your browser, or to other tools like Discord, Slack, and any other service that supports webhooks.

Additionally, here you can configure absence settings and choose whether or not to participate in the meta/ranking system, effectively becoming a “Hermit.” If you are going to be away for several days, it is recommended to enable the unavailable mode to let other players know that you won’t be making moves while enjoying your offline activities.
