This English version is provided for convenience only. In case of any discrepancies or legal relevance, the German version of the terms (“Nutzungsbedingungen”) shall prevail.

These Terms of Use govern the use of Yucata.de, a privately operated, non-commercial online board gaming platform. By registering or using the website, you accept these Terms in full.

1. Nature of the Service

Yucata is a private, hobby-based project without commercial intent. The service is offered voluntarily and free of charge.

No contract is created between the user and the operator. Users have no rights or claims regarding access, features, availability, data preservation, or continuation of the service.

Donations or voluntary financial support do not create any rights or obligations.

The operator may modify, restrict, or discontinue the service at any time, without notice.

2. Operator Rights

The operator retains full administrative authority over the platform, including:

  • Suspension, deletion, or restriction of user accounts.
  • Modification or removal of features.
  • Deletion of content or game data.
  • No obligation to justify administrative actions.
  • Moderators and administrators act on behalf of the operator; their decisions are binding.

3. Accounts, Activity Rules and Automatic Deletion

3.1 Inactive Games

Games without a move for 30 days are automatically ended without a winner. Completed games in which all players are inactive may be deleted regularly.

3.2 Inactive Users

Accounts become inactive after 60 days without any user activity and no longer appear in search or invitation lists.

3.3 Account Deletion

Accounts with few or no played games may be deleted after 6 months of inactivity. More active accounts may be deleted after 3 years of inactivity.

These measures ensure system performance and maintain a clean database.

4. User Conduct and Community Rules

Yucata aims to provide a friendly and welcoming environment. Users are expected to behave respectfully. The following rules apply:

  • Be friendly and respectful; no harassment or pressure.
  • Do not accept more than one or two invitations from the same user at the same time.
  • No mass invitations or mass acceptance of invitations.
  • Only play as many games as you can reliably maintain.
  • No political or religious discussions in chat or forums.
  • The platform is family-friendly; inappropriate content is prohibited.

5. Technical Rules

  • Yucata does not provide a public API. Creating or using scripts, bots, or tools that access internal APIs is prohibited.
  • Manipulating client-side scripts, the interface, or communication with the server is not allowed.
  • Each user may hold one single account only.

6. User Content

All user-generated content (e.g., chat messages, forum posts) must be lawful and appropriate.

By posting content, users grant the operator a simple, non-exclusive license to use that content as necessary for the operation of the platform.

7. Disclaimer of Liability

Yucata is provided on a voluntary and private basis. The operator provides no guarantees regarding availability, performance, correctness, or uninterrupted access.

The operator is not liable for data loss, interruptions, gameplay issues, or any actions of other users.

The operator is liable only for damages caused by intent or gross negligence. Liability for minor negligence is excluded.

Users explicitly accept that they use Yucata at their own risk and without any warranties.

8. Sanctions for Violations

In case of violations of these Terms, the operator or moderators may apply the following measures:

  • Warning
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent suspension
  • Chat/forum mute
  • Account deletion

9. Changes to the Terms of Use

The operator may modify these Terms at any time. The current version is published on the website. By continuing to use the platform, you accept the updated Terms.

10. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. No individual place of jurisdiction is established.

11. Closing Note

Yucata is a place for relaxed and enjoyable gaming. Treat others with respect and help keep the platform a pleasant space for everyone.
