The ranks and points of the meta game

We have an overall meta game, where you can advance in your rank. If you like to not take part in it, you can become a "Hermit" in your account settings.

Ranks

The ranks have different requirements to advance further. After each rank change all the counters/points are reset to 0. You cannot lose a rank you achieved. Here is an overview on all the ranks:

Rank points

All scored games (the default) will contribute to the ranking system. Thus, you will collect or lose rank points based on your final position in a game and the TS values of all the players.

Depending on the final position and the number of players you get a weight as given in the table below.

All player's TS values are taken with a cap of being at least 400. The TS of your opponents is used to determine an average. Then the difference, diffTS, between your and the opponent's TS is limited to be within -800 and +800. For the game the highest TS, TSmax, among all users is determined and requested to be at least 1000. In the case of a shared position the weight, w, is averaged over the shared places. So, we get the three main cases:

  1. overall winning players: w>0
    • ranking points = w * (50 - 100*diffTS/TSmax)
  2. overall tieing players: w=0
    • ranking points = -100*diffTS/TSmax
  3. overall losing players: w<0
    • ranking points = w * (40 + 80*diffTS/TSmax)
