Information about elements at the Lobby
General
The lobby is the central hub on Yucata. From here, you can access all ongoing games, as well as sent and received invitations. The chat system and a list of completed games are also available here.
As a general rule: if there’s nothing to display, nothing will be shown. This means that for new players, the lobby may initially appear quite empty.
All elements on the page update automatically, so manual refreshes are usually unnecessary.
Customization
Everyone has different preferences for how they use the lobby, which is why there are plenty of customization options.
By clicking the
button in the banner, you can reorder the elements in the lobby. Your preferences are saved per device, so the order can differ between your phone and desktop.
The same icon appears in the chat section, where you can adjust the chat window height.
There are two layout options for games and invitations: By default, games are shown as tiles. A list view is available and useful when you have many games. You can switch between views using the toggle above the display.
The Chat
- The public channel is a great place to ask general questions or look for opponents for a live game.
Only short, unformatted messages are allowed here. Other channels support longer messages and even images.
- You can contact site moderators via the Admin/Mod channel—for example, if you're blocked from playing or want to report another player. Please report bugs in the discussion board, not in this channel.
Tip: If someone sends you inappropriate messages, use the context menu to mute them. That’s the most effective solution.
- The system will send you messages through the "Yucata.de" channel.
- To chat privately with other players, search for their username in the search bar or open a chat via the context menu next to their name.
This icon shows which of your friends are currently online. You can add or remove players from your friends list using the context menu or on your profile page.
Other Helpful Tips
Elements underlined with small dots have a context menu that opens on click (mobile) or mouseover (desktop). Especially for games and players, these menus offer many useful navigation options.
- Occasionally, news items will appear which you can dismiss by clicking the small checkmark. These usually link to blog posts. If you want to revisit them later. You’ll find the Blog link in the footer.
- You can choose whether games open in a new window or a new browser tab at the
button at the my game section.
- Games in the game list are sorted by turn order—meaning the ones where it's your turn come first. Games where it’s not your turn follow, sorted by age. You can temporarily change the sorting in the list, but it will reset after reloading the page.
