Two players · Eleven boards · 91 gold markers

Chinagold

Explore the mountains. Follow the rivers. Claim the gold before your opponent.

Your turn

Reveal a straight line of markers, or bury one exposed nugget. Completed territories collect automatically. Then confirm your turn.

The goal

Collect more gold than your opponent. Player 1 owns the mountains; player 2 owns the rivers, the chains of fields connected by blue watercourses. Every field belongs to exactly one mountain and one river. Field tooltips identify both territories.

The board

The game chooses one of eleven boards. All 91 markers start face down. A brown marker hides gold, a gold marker has been revealed, and an empty circle has already been collected. Each marker is worth one .

Narrow sand paths separate the mountains. Blue rivers connect their gold fields.

On your turn

  1. Check the roll. The server automatically chooses a number from the current range. Upright wooden tiles show its value as a total of black strokes.
  2. Reveal gold. Click the first and last marker of a straight line containing exactly the rolled number of face-down markers. No gaps, exposed gold or collected fields may interrupt the line. For a roll of one, click a single marker.
  3. Or bury gold. Instead of prospecting, click exactly one exposed gold marker to turn it face down. This option requires a shovel and is available only while rolls remain; give the shovel to your opponent afterwards.
  4. Confirm. After automatic collection, confirm your turn. Before confirmation, Undo lets you change your choice.

Burying gold: your shovels

Each player starts with two shovels. Instead of revealing markers, you may turn one revealed gold marker face down if you have at least one shovel and random throwing tiles remain. Afterwards, give one shovel to your opponent. With no shovels, you cannot bury gold. You can therefore bury at most two more times than your opponent.

Player information shows each shovel individually. A shovel flies to your opponent when you bury gold. Burying and its shovel transfer can be undone together before confirming your turn.

Claiming a territory

When a territory contains no face-down markers, its owner collects all gold still in it. The active player collects first. The opponent then collects any remaining gold in their completed territories. Collected fields stay empty, so the same nugget cannot score twice.

When the board fills up

The range is recalculated before each turn from the remaining face-down markers.

1–5At least two different straight lines of five markers remain.
1–4Otherwise, at least two lines of four remain.
1–3Otherwise, at least two lines of three remain.
Free choiceOtherwise, reveal one marker or two neighboring markers. To select one marker, click it twice. Burying is no longer allowed.

Lines may overlap. Burying can restore longer lines and increase the range again.

Winning the game

After all markers have been collected and the last turn has been confirmed, the player with more gold wins.
